Does JPG to PDF lower the quality of my photos?

No. A JPG goes into the PDF with its original compressed data, so nothing is re-compressed and there is no quality slider to set. A PNG is stored without loss, which keeps the small text in a screenshot sharp. What does change is the size on paper, because every picture is scaled to fill the A4 sheet inside the margin. A large camera photo is shrunk and loses nothing you would notice. A very small image is enlarged instead, and it will look soft when printed because enlarging cannot add detail the file never had. For a crisp print, start from the largest copy of the image you have.

Which page size and orientation does each image get?

Every page is A4, and the direction comes from the pixel width and height of each image. An image that is wider than it is tall gets a landscape sheet, and every other image, including a square one, gets a portrait sheet, so one PDF can mix both. The picture keeps its proportions and is centred inside the margin, so it is never stretched or cropped. When its shape differs from A4, the spare space shows as white bands on two sides. The small margin is about 8.5 mm and the wide margin about 17 mm. If a form asks for US Letter, convert first and then change the sheets with Resize PDF Pages.

How do I control the page order of the images?

The file list under the dropzone is the page order, and the first name becomes page 1. There is no thumbnail strip or drag handle, and some file pickers sort by name or date instead of the order you clicked. Rename the files with a number prefix such as 01, 02 and 03 before you select them, so that a sort by name gives the order you want. Choosing or dropping images again replaces the whole list rather than adding to it, so select every image in one go. If the finished PDF is still out of order, fix it with Reorder PDF Pages instead of converting again.

Why did a phone photo come out sideways in the PDF?

Some cameras store the picture on its side and add a rotation tag that gallery apps follow when they show it. This converter uses the stored pixels and ignores that tag, so the photo can land on its side, usually on a landscape sheet. If every page is turned the same way, Rotate PDF can turn the whole file in one step. If only one or two pages are wrong, make an upright copy of those photos, for example by editing and re-saving them, and create the PDF again. Check the copy before you convert, because some gallery apps turn a photo by changing the tag and leave the pixels as they were.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC or WebP images to PDF here?

Not directly. Only JPG and PNG files are accepted, and HEIC, WebP, GIF, TIFF and BMP files are refused with the message Choose JPG or PNG images. Export or convert the photo to JPG or PNG on your device first. Some phones hand the browser a JPG copy automatically when you pick a camera photo from the library, so try selecting it here before you convert anything. A single unsupported file stops the whole selection, so take it out and choose the remaining images again.

Are my images uploaded, and how many can I convert at once?

Nothing is uploaded. The images are read and placed into the PDF inside this browser tab, and the download is created on your device. While it works, the status line counts through the batch, for example Adding image 3 of 12, and the result appears as Image PDF with its file size. One run takes up to 250 images, with each file at most 60 MB and the whole selection at most 120 MB. A phone can run out of memory before those limits. For a long batch of full-resolution photos, convert it in two or three smaller runs and join the results with Merge PDF.
