PNG to PDF: Convert Screenshots and Graphics Privately
A PNG is already a page image. PDF North embeds each selected PNG on an A4 sheet that matches its orientation, then offers one downloadable PDF. That is the same local converter as JPG to PDF — it already accepts PNG — written here for people who searched for a PNG-specific path.
How to do this in PDF North
- Open JPG to PDF and choose one or more PNG files in the page order you want.
- Pick no margin, a small margin or a wide margin so print edges stay clear.
- Create the PDF and open every page before you delete the source PNGs.
What happens to a PNG on the page
Each PNG becomes one PDF page. A portrait screenshot uses A4 portrait; a landscape chart uses A4 landscape. The image is fitted inside the margin without stretching, so you may see white bands when the PNG is not A4-shaped. Pixel content is not resampled to invent extra sharpness.
Transparency, colour and file size
PDF North draws the PNG onto a normal white A4 page. Transparent pixels therefore sit on white, not on a see-through PDF layer. PNG encoding can stay larger than a JPG of the same photo. That is useful for UI screenshots and diagrams; it is a poor way to shrink a camera roll. If the finished PDF is too large to send, extract unused pages or use Compress PDF and accept flattened pages.
When PNG to PDF is the wrong job
If you already have a PDF and need page images back, use PDF to PNG instead. If the destination demands Letter or Legal rather than A4, convert first, then resize the pages. HEIC and WebP files are not accepted; export or convert those images to PNG or JPG on the device first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert PNG to PDF without uploading?
Yes. JPG to PDF reads PNG files in this browser tab. PDF North does not receive the images.
Does a transparent PNG stay transparent in the PDF?
No. Each page is a white A4 sheet. Transparent areas show as white around the graphic.
Can I mix PNG and JPG in one PDF?
Yes. Select both types in the order the pages should appear. Each image still becomes its own A4 page.
Is there a separate PNG to PDF tool?
No. The live converter is JPG to PDF, which already accepts PNG. This page is the PNG-specific how-to.
