JPG to PDF Page Sizes: Fit Photos Without Stretching
Turning photos or scans into a PDF should not stretch them. PDF North places each selected JPG or PNG on an A4 sheet that matches the image orientation, then fits the picture inside the margin you choose.
How to do this in PDF North
- Select images in the page order you want.
- Choose no margin, a small margin or a wide margin.
- Create the PDF and check that portrait and landscape photos kept their orientation.
How each image becomes a page
A portrait image is placed on an A4 portrait page. A landscape image uses an A4 landscape page. The image is fitted inside the margin without being stretched to fill the sheet. Extra white space appears when the photo’s proportions differ from A4.
Margins and print edges
No margin uses as much of the sheet as the image proportions allow. A small margin is the default for readable scans. A wide margin keeps content away from a printer’s non-printable edge. Margins do not change the pixel content of the photo.
When A4 is the wrong finished size
The converter standardises images onto A4. If a later step needs Letter, Legal or a custom sheet, convert first, then use Resize PDF Pages. If you need page images back out of the PDF, use PDF to JPG or PDF to PNG. PNG screenshots belong on PNG to PDF; a stack of photos belongs on multiple images to one PDF.

What page size does JPG to PDF use?
Each image is placed on an A4 page. Portrait and landscape images keep their own orientation instead of being rotated to a single layout.
Will my photo be cropped?
No. The image is fitted inside the chosen margin. You may see white bands, but the full picture remains visible.
Do the photos upload?
No. Images are read and embedded in this browser. PDF North does not receive them.
