Name the pages to leave out

Delete PDF Pages is for sheets you can already number. Blank backs from a duplex scan, a duplicate photo, a cover letter a portal did not ask for, or a trailing empty page are the usual cases. You type those numbers. The tool copies every other page into a new PDF and leaves the ones you named out. It does not inspect the pixels and decide that a page is empty.

The field is Pages to remove, and it is required. The note under it says to use commas and ranges. Before a file is chosen the placeholder reads 2, 5-7. After a successful read, a PDF with more than four pages gets a placeholder of 1-3 plus the last page number. A shorter PDF gets a placeholder running from 1 through its page count. The summary shows that page count, which is the span your numbers must fit.

How a removal list is read

2, 5-7 removes page 2 and pages 5, 6 and 7. Writing 5-7, 2 removes that same set. Kept pages stay in their original order. The order of the removal list does not shuffle them. A space around the hyphen is accepted, so 5 - 7 is the same range as 5-7. A range has to run upward. 7-5 is rejected because the end comes before the start. A zero, a word, or a number past the last page is rejected, and the message names the bad piece plus the real span from 1 to the page count. Repeating a number does not remove anything extra. The set of pages to drop is unique.

Eleven scanned pages, five of them blank backs

scan.pdf has 11 pages. The even pages 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 are blank backs. Enter 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and press Delete pages. The result row is labelled Cleaned PDF. The download is scan-pages-removed.pdf. Five pages remain: the old odd pages, still in that order. The line under the label is the new file size. If the list would remove all 11 pages, the tool stops with the message At least one page must remain, and it does not offer a download.

Nothing here guesses which pages are blank

There is no Detect blank control. A sheet can look white and still hold a faint header, a white image, or a signature you meant to keep. Typing the numbers is the whole interface. There is no odd or even keyword, no phrase that means all pages except, and no outline entry to follow. Split PDF cannot take this list either. It only groups consecutive pages starting at page 1, and it saves each group as its own download. If the pages you want to keep are a shorter list than the pages you want to drop, Extract PDF Pages is the other way to say the same cut.

The download is a copy of the keepers

Kept pages are copied into a new PDF. They are not redrawn as pictures, so selectable text on a typed page stays selectable. A scanned page stays a picture of that page. Leaving pages out often makes the download smaller, because those pages are absent, but this is not the compressor. Image-heavy pages you keep are stored as they were. Use Compress PDF afterwards only when a size cap remains and you can accept flattened pages.

Bookmarks are not copied into the new document. The outline stays behind with the source catalogue, which this function never copies. The form dictionary is not copied, so do not send a fillable form through this tool if someone still has to complete the fields. A certificate that signed the source does not stay valid on the cleaned bytes. Keep scan.pdf until you have opened the cleaned copy and checked the page count.

One file, a numeric keyboard, and a hard stop on locks

A second file is refused. Encrypted files fail while they are read. The message says password-protected PDFs are not supported yet, and there is no password box to fill. The file must be 60 MB or smaller and must not exceed 250 pages. This tool does not draw the first-page preview, so you confirm the numbers in a reader you already trust. On a phone the removal field asks for a numeric keyboard. You still type the numbers. There is no thumbnail to tap. A long colour scan can exhaust a phone before the 60 MB or 250-page checks, because the file is parsed in the tab. Move that job to a computer.

The original stays on the device

Reading and copying happen in this browser tab. PDF North does not receive the PDF. The file you selected is not replaced on disk. The cleaned download is a separate name. Close or reload the tab to release the temporary download address.

Tips after the unwanted pages are gone

The longer note on blank backs, including why there is no automatic detector, is delete blank PDF pages. Reorder PDF Pages can fix the sequence of what remains. Frequently asked questions

Does 5-7, 2 remove a different set of pages than 2, 5-7?

No. Both remove pages 2, 5, 6 and 7. Pages you keep stay in their original order. The order of the removal list does not shuffle the download.

Why does Delete PDF Pages reject a range written as 7-5?

A range has to climb. The end number has to be at least the start. 7-5 fails that test. 5-7 and 5 - 7 are both accepted. A number outside 1 through the page count is a different error, and that message names the bad piece.

What file name does scan.pdf get after pages are removed?

scan-pages-removed.pdf. The result row is titled Cleaned PDF. The line under the title is the size of that new file.

Can I type odd or even in Pages to remove?

No. The field accepts page numbers, commas and ascending ranges. It has no odd or even keyword, no all-except phrase, and no control that searches the file for blank sheets.

Does a certificate on the source stay valid in the cleaned PDF?

No. The cleaned file is a new document built by copying the pages you kept. A certificate that covered the source bytes does not stay valid there. Keep the signed original.

Does listing page 4 twice remove it twice?

No. The numbers are collected into a set. Page 4 is dropped once. A repeat cannot delete a page that is not in the file, and it cannot remove part of a page you are keeping.
