Combine PDF Files into One Packet
Combining PDFs here means one standard file: cover, then body, then appendix, in the order you select. PDF North copies existing pages into that packet inside this browser. It does not create a zip, a PDF portfolio, or a cloud folder.
How to do this in PDF North
- Lay out the finished reading order on disk: cover, main file, exhibits.
- Open Merge PDF and select each document in that sequence, then check the filename list.
- Merge, open the download, and only then number pages or strip metadata on the combined copy.
Build the packet before you decorate it
Extract chapters and delete blank sheets first so junk does not travel into the combined file. Merge next. Add page numbers only after the order is right. Remove metadata last if the packet will leave its original workflow. Compress last of all, and only if a destination cap forces flattened pages.
How this differs from the merge-versus-combine explainer
Merge vs combine is about vocabulary. This page is the working order for a real packet: invoices for a month, a grant appendix, a closing binder. The live tool is still Merge PDF. Password-protected parts cannot be joined until you unlock a copy you are allowed to edit.
Limits that show up on big binders
Each file may be 60 MB, the selection 120 MB, and a job 250 pages. Those are browser-memory limits. If a binder is larger, combine it in chapters, or extract only the exhibits a recipient asked for. Merging copies pages; it does not shrink photos. See all PDF guides for compress and split paths.
Frequently asked questions
Is combine PDF different from merge PDF on this site?
No. Both words open the same local merger. You get one standard PDF in selection order, not a zip of the originals.
Can I combine 20 invoices at once?
Yes, if the page and size caps hold. Select them in statement order and open the result before you delete the month’s folder.
Will combining flatten the pages?
No. Pages are copied as PDF pages. Compression is the tool that rebuilds pages as images.
Does combining upload the files?
No. Selected PDFs stay in this tab. PDF North does not receive the packet.
