What 300 DPI means for a PDF page
DPI describes pixels per printed inch. A US Letter page is 8.5 × 11 inches, so a full-page 300 DPI image is about 2550 × 3300 pixels. PDF North does not expose a raw DPI field. It offers Standard, Large and Extra Large render sizes so you can trade sharpness against memory.
JPG quality versus render size
Render size decides how many pixels are created. JPG quality decides how aggressively those pixels are compressed. Raising quality on a small render will not recover detail that was never drawn. Extra Large plus a quality around 86 is a practical starting point for slides and clear page images.
When PNG is the better export
Charts, logos and sharp text often look cleaner as PNG because the encoding does not add JPG block artefacts. Photographs and already-soft scans are usually smaller as JPG. Compare both tools if the next step is a design file rather than an email attachment.

Does PDF to JPG export at exactly 300 DPI?
No exact DPI control is provided. Extra Large increases the pixel grid so a letter-size page is closer to a high-resolution export. Measure the downloaded image if a printer requires a specific pixel count.
Why are there many downloads?
Each page becomes its own JPG. A 12-page PDF produces 12 labelled files so you can keep only the pages you need.
Is the PDF uploaded for conversion?
